The Yellow Watchman Goby is a small, beautiful fish with beautiful blue color pattering throughout their bodies. This fish is known as one of the most common beginner fish for a saltwater aquarium. They are also known to have some of the most interesting behavioral traits of any saltwater fish that make them very entertaining.
Size: They are most commonly known to grow up to 3-4 inches.
Behavior: Not much action to their semi-burrowing nature, but they are mostly known for their symbiotic relationship. These fishes are not good at procuring foods and anything of that sort, apart from guarding their small burrows. But this is where their relationship comes in. Watchman gobies pair with a shrimp called the pistol shrimp. Pistol shrimp are practically blind and are unable to defend themselves from predators. Watchman Gobies look out for any danger for the shrimp, in favor, the shrimp make and develop a burrow for the watchman goby to lay its eggs to keep them safe. In most cases, people house these two creatures together in their aquarium to enjoy seeing them working together in their home.
Diet: Their diet consist of brine shrimp, mysis and spiralina.
